We believe that it is important to celebrate and amplify the voices and contributions of Black individuals, and we are committed to showcasing the resilience, creativity, and cultural heritage of the Black community through our programming and content. Reckoning with Racism in Nursing
Interviews with Nurses of Color and Their Allies

In 2021, 40 interviews were conducted with nurses from across the United States. These interviews capture the wealth of professional and personal experiences of nurses of color, spanning decades and encompassing a wide array of topics and concerns.
My Voice, My Story
Black History Month Portrait Series

The Black History Month Portrait Series, "My Voice, My Story", produced by Amherst Media member, Kim DeShields, returns with an interview with Tennis Professional and Black Tennis historian, Arthur "Art" Carrington. This fascinating interview dives into the racial consequences of club sports, high performance tennis with the likes of Arthur Ashe and Althea Gibson, and the building of the Multi-Sport Center at Hampshire College.

The Town of Amherst hosts the Martin Luther King Day celebration with a community reading in the Bangs Center.
