On Thursday, April 7th, at 7:00 p.m., legendary composer and baritone saxophonist, Fred Ho, returns to his hometown,Amherst, MA. Mr. Ho will be performing and his new CD releases will be available for sale.

Community television programming provided through Amherst Media -- the former ACTV -- has long held up a mirror to public life in Amherst. As its name change suggests, this is a cause that's grown beyond television, as it exploits new digital technologies to give that mirror new dimensions.

On a chill December day a little over a year ago, the large studio at Amherst Media was filled with the aroma of Cambodian food and the lilt of the Cambodian language Khmai. About 20 members of the non-English-speaking Cambodian community in Amherst had gathered to participate in a health conference on diabetes in their native language with 18 other sites around the country, via Skype. The Amherst health department brought in literature. The Cambodian participants brought in food.
