Pat Aufderheide, American University Professor and author of several books on Fair Use and copyright laws, recently visited Amherst Media for a taping of "Key News" to talk about Fair Use laws with Jim Lescault and UMass Professor Martha Fuentes-Bautista. Professor Aufderheide also visited UMass Amherst for a lecture on Fair Use laws. Check out both the "Key News" interview and the lecture below. In the chilly November air the University of Massachusetts contingent of the Occupy Movement held their first General Assembly on the plaza in front of the Du Bios Library this afternoon. The Assembly began around noon as people starting making their way around the entrance, finally coalescing by the south east corner near the entrance. The group, which got no bigger than about twenty five people at times, gathered around a couple of benches, one with a rough piece of cloth with ìWe are the 99%î written in duct tape. Some more prepared members carried notebooks and flyers.

The Amherst Room of the Lincoln Campus Center at the University of Massachusetts was abuzz with activity on Monday as people gathered to usher in Open Access Week at the University with the lecture ìBeyond the Copyright Wars: Fair Use, Free Speech, and Reframing the Policy Debateî by American University Professor Patricia Aufderheide.
