Teatro v!da will be representing the young people of springfield in a city wide meeting for re-build springfield on January 26 2012 at 375 Island Pond Road in the Saint Anthony's Social Center at 6pm. Its an opend meeting, please come down and be a part of the new springfield ahead. We will love your ideas, we want to hear what you have to say.

Amherst Town Meeting is the primary form of town governance. Town Meeting decides the budgets for the schools, libraries, and town, as well as creating all the local laws and zoning. Due to redistricting all 240 of its seats are open and up for election this year, so now is a great opportunity for any residents to run for office. * To join, you just need to sign your name at the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall - It only takes one signature to file a nomination paper. * The deadline for joining is February 14th at 5pm.

If you go to Wikipedia today, you'll only get one page titled "Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge." Many sites, including Wikipedia, are going offline for 24 hours to raise awareness about two bills that are currently sitting in front of the House of Representatives and Congress: SOPA and PIPA, two bills that could potentially harm net neutrality. Teatro V!da, Amherst Media's Springfield partner, has stepped forward to assist the City of Springfield's efforts to rebuild. Check out the report presented by the youth to the City - truly inspirational and one that should be seriously taken under consideration by those planning the vision for a new city.

Amherst Media Board of Directors President John Bruner presented Cynthia Brubaker with the Second Annual Jean Haggerty Award for Community Engagement and Social Change on Monday, December 19, 2011. Cynthia is a former Amherst Media Board member, a member of the Amherst League of Women Voters and has hosted numerous Amherst Media programs, most notably "Amherst...Neighbor to Neighbor," which shines a spotlight on various Amherst residents.
