This Friday, September 22 at the Bing Arts Center is an intimate evening of performance and conversation with Janis Astor del Valle. Astor del Valle is an award-winning writer, performer and filmmaker whose work promotes discourse and fosters understanding of LGBTQ issues and cultural diversity. In Staying con la Gana, she combines spoken word and monologues to introduce a cast of characters who are all longing for something – or someone: parents missing their children, women pining for lovers and others, activists fighting for justice. Staying con la Gana marks the third collaboration between Astor del Valle and director, Carolyn Kirsch. Audience talkback and reception immediately following.
The performance begins at 7pm, doors open at 6:30. Refreshments will be available.
